Now that I'm on the break that is not a break, I have time for this, wheeeee~!

Target OC: Wyrik Astyrr. This guy, and his story, don't get enough attention, so here's some time for him in the spotlight! I think by going through this meme, it will help illuminate other areas of the story. Well, let's have fun! I could describe him, but that is what this journal is for. Eh, I'll add an image of him once I draw one :S


[ DAY o1 ] Describe your character's relationship with their mother or their father, or both. Was it good? Bad? Were they spoiled rotten, ignored? Do they still get along now, or no?
-He has a very tense relationship with his parents, actually. His family from his father's side has been a long line of magic users and he himself has no magical talent. Naturally, his parents are disappointed, but they don't actually love him any less for it. Still, there is favoritism shown from his parents towards his oldest brother, Martin, and his older sister, Verin, as they are both capable magicians. Because of this and his own feelings of incompetence, he resents his family and views his parents as unloving and feels like they'd be happier if he would just disappear.

[ DAY o2 ] What are your characters most prominent physical features?
-Like many of my characters, there's nothing about him that is truly remarkable in his appearance. The most that could be said about him is that he has long hair. Sorry, kiddo.

[ DAY o3 ] Name one scar your character has, and tell us where it came from. If they don't have any, is there a reason?
-Wyrik has no notable scars. The only ones he has are simple ones from childhood, like form falling out of a tree or something. Otherwise he has none because he leads a cautious life. He hasn't even really gotten any scars from the merc guild considering that they only use blunt objects for training.

[ DAY o4 ] How vain is your character? Do they find themselves attractive?
-Wyrik is actually the exact opposite of vain. He truly hates himself and finds no redeeming factor in his looks or personality. Poor dude...

[ DAY o5 ] What's your character's ranking on the Kinsey Scale?
-0: Exclusively heterosexual. Possibly 1, but I honestly never put a whole lot of thought into his orientation. Regardless I'm fairly certain he'd be 0-1.

[ DAY o6 ] Describe your character's happiest memory.
-His happiest memory is simply a time when he was really young and his family all went out and enjoyed time together, before he was tested for magical ability and before senses of disappointment settled in.

[ DAY o7 ] Is there one event or happening your character would like to erase from their past? Why?
-Wy would rather just prevent his birth entirely. He despises his life and wishes he had a better one :/ Other than that, he would probably wish he never went through testing for magical talent, since he then might have been able to find a niche instead of being a disappointment.

[ DAY o8 ] Day of Favorites! What's your character's favorite ice cream flavor? Color? Song? Flower?
-His favorite color is dark blue, and he is partial to most field flowers, esp. dandelions.

[ DAY o9 ] Who does your character trust?
-He does trust Verinne, despite their somewhat rocky relationship, as she is the only sibling he feels he can open up to. Otherwise he does trust Triasys, but then, who doesn't?

[ DAY 1o ] Can you define a turning point in your character's life? Multiples are acceptable.
-First was when he was tested for magical talent, the second his recruitment into the mercenary guild. One led to disappointment, the second to adventuuure~

[ DAY 11 ] Is there an animal you equate with your character?
-I can never equate my charries to animals for some reason. Although I do have fun drawing the guy as a Goomba every now and then XD

[ DAY 12 ] How is your character with technology? Super savvy, or way behind the times? Letters or email?
-His original setting is an anachronistic medieval mess that lacks technology, so definitely behind the times. Goes without saying he sends letters too. In his modernized version he's with the times and fairly tech savvy, but doesn't stay on the cutting edge.

[ DAY 13 ] What does your character's bed look like when he/she wakes up? Are the covers off on one side of the bed, are they all curled around a pillow, sprawled everywhere? In what position might they sleep?
-Upon waking up, the covers are probably covering him with his arms over them, but he makes the bed once he gets up. I think he would sleep on his side?  

[ DAY 14 ] How does your character react to temperature changes such as extreme heat and cold?
-He hates hot weather and tends to have very low energy in such conditions. He deals alright with the cold though.

[ DAY 15 ] Is your character an early morning bird or a night owl?
-Early bird.

[ DAY 16 ] Are there any blood relatives that your character is particularly close with, besides the immediate ones? Cousins, Uncles, Grandfathers, Aunts, et cetera. Are there any others that your character practically considers a blood relative?
-There isn't anyone I can think of. His grandparents are probably alive, but likely doesn't have much of a connection with them. As far as I have thought out for his familial bonds, no extended family is relevant.

[ DAY 17 ] What's your character's desk/workspace look like? Are they neat or messy?
-He'd keep a fairly organized desk/workspace. The only clutter/messiness to be found would be things he needed to pull out quickly and didn't bother to put back immediately. He strikes me as the type to organize things out of boredom when he has nothing to do.

[ DAY 18 ] Is your character a good cook? What's their favorite recipe, whether they're good or not? (Microwave mac-and-cheese applies.)
-He can cook well enough that the food is edible and generally enjoyable. His favorite recipe is... porridge with fruits I guess? In modernized versions he would be fond of customizing frozen pizzas I think XD

[ DAY 19 ] What's your character's preferred means of travel?
-He likes to wander and go by foot when possible. Otherwise he is only familiar with horseback riding and has probably only been in a carriage very few times.

[ DAY 2o ] Does your character have any irrational fears?
-Just ones associated with major depression.

[ DAY 21 ] What would your character's  cutie mark be?
-Leaves in wind, or a raincloud.

[ DAY 22 ] If your character could time travel, where would they go?
-I think he would want to go to the future, assuming he knew the general culture in the future. I think he would like a more industrial time.

[ DAY 23 ] Is your character superstitious?
-No.

[ DAY 24 ] What might your character's ideal romantic partner be?
-Someone sympathetic and understanding. He prefers girls that aren't incredibly pretty, but have a simple attraction to them. For him, it's the personality that is most important as well as the emotional support she can offer.

[ DAY 25 ] Describe your character's hands. Are they small, long, calloused, smooth, stubby?
-Like most wind-character tropes, he has finer hands with tapering fingers. They were smooth, but are becoming more calloused as he trains with the mercs.

[ DAY 26 ] Second day of favorites! Favorite comfort food, favorite vice (an immoral or evil habit or practice.), favorite outfit, favorite hot drink, favorite time of year, and favorite holiday.
-Comfort food: uh? Vice: Self-harm. outfit: normal clothes that are comfy and easy to move in. Hot drink: tea. Time of year: autumn. Holiday: I haven't made the holidays in his world yet.

[ DAY 27 ] Pick two songs that describe your character at two different points of their life, and explain why you chose them.
Oh, but my musical lexicon is rather tight...
1. Part of Your World (The Little Mermaid): because he has an inherent connection to wind, he has always felt like he would be more at home with the wind spirits, rather than in his current life. He longs for some sort of change from his life and would happily pay whatever price to become a spirit of the wind instead of be human.

2. Bodicea (Enya): I dunno, if has a rather melancholy yet soothing melody. It just makes me think of his personality in general. Rather brooding, but not attention-grabbing. Just humming along to the dull flow of his fate.

[ DAY 28 ] If your character's life was a genre, what would it be?
-But the story is already fantasy!! But as for his life specifically; drama. With drama llamas everywhere.

[ DAY 29 ] How does your character smell? Do they wear perfume or cologne?
In-verse, let me blow your minds for a moment; people in medieval times did not smell good!! But modernized Wyrik would be the type to shower most every day and smells neutral or like deodorant.  

[ DAY 3o ] And finally: Write a letter to your character, from yourself.
Dear Wyrik,

Never give up! You are a vital character to the story and you contribute in a way that no other could. And yes, your absence would be missed. Moreover, don't let Luther's taunts get to you; he is just trying to hide his own insecurities. I know you wish you had better skills or magical ability, but just know you do have a specific role to play and the other characters do value you, yes, even Verinne! Keep on chugging away, buddy!
